Santiago de Compostela: ComTEMPnoLUGAR (2013); Porto: The city of the Others (2014); Porto: Women’s Roads (2014); Galiza: The Pathway of the Stars( 2019); Azores, Terceira: Water, Fire; Earth and Air (2019); Olivais, Lisboa : Catching the details (2020); Azores, Pico: Textile Cartographies (2022). As researchers and activists in arts and education, we use art-based research methods and theories of psychogeography invented by surrealists and artists from the Situationist International group. These process help to investigate phenomena and to create theories as an alternative way of knowing that informs the researcher. Through ways of Walking, we engage in ethnographic practices by exploring out new pedagogies based on the arts (Derives with Ângela Saldanha). Maltratadas (2013-2017) The project ‘Battered’ was initiated in October 2013, by me and other activist people, launching a call for a visual story in patchwork about women who are victims of violence (Eça et al, 2016). In Portugal a huge patchwork was produced with squares of cloth created by many people from different ages, genders, and social ranks. The participants of this action learned from each other in terms of emancipation. As far as they were involved in the project, they became part of a bigger community interested in exposing a social justice situation using a craft technique.
